Student Physical Therapy Association (SPTA):

The Student Physical Therapy Association seeks to create a community among undergraduate and graduate physical therapy students. The SPTA works with faculty and staff to connect students to the field of physical therapy, and promotes student involvement in and awareness of the profession.  This year, SPTA is looking to raise funds to support student participation in professional activities outside of the classroom.

Fundraising Initiative:

Samson College International Medical Mission Trip: Goal - $3,000

The International Medical Mission Trip to Costa Rica is resuming this year and the Student PT association would like to support this endeavor by fundraising during Giving Tuesday. Students from both Physical Therapy and Occupational therapy participate in this rare opportunity to learn about rehabilitation in another country and engage in an international medical mission. These funds will allow students of all financial backgrounds to apply for this opportunity. This program will allow students to work collaboratively to screen patients in their homes and then treat appropriate patients in a clinical setting. The International Medical Mission trip will include training seminars and experiential learning opportunities in occupational and physical therapies and cultural exploration.
