Mathematics, Physics and Statistics (MPS):
Our students take courses in all three fields. Each program combines scientific theory with practical applications: Students have the chance to gain valuable hands-on experience with diverse, student-centered innovative research. Our interdisciplinary environment ensures students graduate with the skills and knowledge to compete at top graduate schools and enjoy successful, rewarding careers. These vital disciplines are not only vital to but also complement other USciences programs.
Fundraising Initiative:
Calculator Lending Library: $2,500 Goal
Graphing calculators have become in indispensable tool in the teaching, understanding and application of mathematics and statistics in today’s classroom. Unfortunately many students cannot afford to purchase their own graphing calculator and fall behind in math and stat classes. We want to raise money to purchase 20 TI84 graphing calculators to create a lending library where students can borrow a graphing calculator at no cost.
Makerspace FabLab: 3D Printer and Visualization: $2,000 Goal
Students and faculty of the Physics Program are seeking your donation to establish a MakerSpace/FabLab at the university as a place to collaborate in visualizing and fabricating 3D forms. This will engage students with 21st Century digital tools, uniquely making them competitive in the job market. Your donation will help propel student minds, inspire creativity and transform student attitudes to learning in both sciences, arts and humanities. Your generosity will also help repair or acquire 3D printers, 3D cutters, accessories and software.
