Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences:

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Philadelphia College of Pharmacy) is known for its innovation and clinically relevant discoveries that can significantly change the way we understand and treat diseases through novel drug design, biomarker discovery, and pioneering new formulations and devices aimed at ameliorating patient outcomes. Students enrolled in our Programs have an exceptional opportunity to explore their passion for independent discovery and research. The Department is dedicated to its students academically in the classroom and is highly supportive and committed to their scholarly success associated with research.

Explorers and Scholars in Science Program: Goal - $5,000

The Explorers and Scholars in Science Program offered by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Philadelphia College of Pharmacy) provides students a paid summer research opportunity as early as their first undergrad year. The student is invited to this program based on high school academics/GPA during admission and provides hands on experience and a strong platform to build necessary research skills in the laboratory to prepare for future careers in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The involvement of our students in meaningful research projects throughout their undergraduate years allows them to gain a competitive edge for jobs, fellowships, internships, or graduate school. This Explorers and Scholars Program also provides a personalized and engaging mentorship approach in year 1, already aligning students with their passion towards research and preparing them for their ideal future career plans.  Raising money through giving Tuesday for this program will allow us to maintain and grow the program by offering this opportunity to a bigger population of students that join our Undergraduate Programs in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Importantly, donations will support our undergraduate students to keep advancing and pushing the barriers of science by providing the opportunity to attend conferences and present to the scientific community, participate in workshops to expand their expertise in their respective fields and promote research projects in the lab by providing necessary supplies, software and equipment.
