Our students and faculty are perfectly poised to help combat the opioid epidemic as well as other substance use disorders by providing education on appropriate opioid use, harm reduction strategies, and information about medical cannabis as an option.
Our need this year is to fund two programs for our students - one to educate them on Medical Cannabis use here in Pennsylvania and the second, to help them conduct quality research that can help curb the problem of substance use disorders.

Medical Cannabis Education - Goal $3,000
Each year SUDI provides a 4-hour PA Department of Health (DOH) approved course on Medical Cannabis to all graduating pharmacy students. We bring in experts in the field, pharmacists and physicians from across the state to educate our students. Successful completion of this course allows students to work in the medical cannabis industry or be knowledgeable about medical cannabis for the patients they will be serving in their community. Your gift will help underwrite the cost of this effort.
Student Research - Goal $1,500
Many students conduct research on Substance Use Disorders in conjunction with the faulty associated with the SUDI. Some require funding to conduct surveys, purchase software and data, or just print materials for research. Funds provided here will help offset these research costs and allow students to conduct and eventually publish/present their findings.
